Dear Nagel Middle School Parent(s):

The first of four scheduled parent conferences for this school year will be held the evening of Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 4:30 – 8:00 pm. To streamline the scheduling of conferences, Nagel uses an online program. Available conference slots will fill up on a first come, first served basis, so the sooner you can schedule your conference the better. The window to schedule appointments will be open from September 18, 2015 – September 29, 2015. Due to limited availability, please schedule a maximum of two conferences with core team teachers. You may also schedule conferences with encore teachers. Please keep in mind that if you feel a conference is not necessary at this time, Nagel does not require you to attend each parent/teacher conference. Students are invited to participate in conferences with parents. If students do attend, they must remain with parents at all times.

As educators we are continuously finding ways to increase student engagement in learning. Last year we had the opportunity to meet with our teachers and students discuss our beliefs around what student success looks like. These discussions led us to revising our SOAR acronym. We are excited to move forward with our revised SOAR acronym (Scholar – Ownership – Aspirations – Relationships) and continue to develop belief statements that support students to engage, empower, and excel. All of the Nagel community needs to be involved in this conversation. Therefore, we are hoping you would like to be a part of this discussion and attend our Nagel SOAR parent dialogue during conference night from 5:30- 6:30pm. You do not need to sign up, just stop by and engage in conversations with the Nagel administrators in the Cafetorium. We look forward to seeing you there.

Signing Up for Just One Conference:
1. Click on the link for the staff member you would like to schedule.
2. Select the time you would like to schedule your conference from those that are available.
3. Click on “Sign Up for Selected Conferences” at the bottom of the page.
4. Print the next page or wait until you receive a confirmation via email so you know your schedule and room on Conference Night.

Signing Up for Conferences with Multiple Teachers (Maximum two core team teachers):
1. Click on the “Register for Multiple Conference” link.
2. Indicate the number of students you will be scheduling and click “Continue”.
3. Enter the required information and click “Continue” at the bottom of the page.
4. If you have more than one student to schedule, enter additional student(s) on the next screen. Click “Continue”.
5. Click on the first teacher you would like to meet with and hit the > arrow to move it over to the “Selected Schedules” box.
6. Add additional teachers by repeating step 5.
7. Once you have chosen the teachers you would like to meet, click on “Find Schedules with Common Dates” at the bottom of the page.
8. Click the black block that reads “View Conferences for Tuesday, September 29, 2015.”
9. Find the available times for the teachers you would like to see and click on the appropriate box.
10. Once you have selected your teachers and times, click on “Sign Up for Selected Conferences” at the bottom of the page.
11. Print the last page or wait until you receive confirmation by email so you know your schedule for Conference Night.

Additional scheduled parent conferences for this school year will be held on October 29, January 21, and February 25.
