Nessa Hessami/Kindergarten Room 4

Dear Kindergarten Families,

I am so excited to welcome your child to Kindergarten! To help me get to know your child’s unique strengths and academic starting point, I will be holding short 1:1 baseline assessments over the next month.

During our time together, we’ll play a few quick games to look at foundational skills like letter recognition, counting, and shapes. We will share and discuss these assessment results together during the fall Parent-Teacher Conferences, giving us a clear picture of how to support your child's growth this year.

Important Details & Logistics:

  • No Stress: This is not a "pass/fail" test! It’s just a fun, friendly way for me to get a head start on planning the best learning experience for your child.

  • Dismissal & Assessment Time: You do not need to pick your child up at our 1:00 PM dismissal time on their assigned assessment day! I will transition signed-up students directly into their assessment time with me.

  • Parents Do Not Need to Attend: You do not need to be present for the assessment—it’s just a quiet 1-on-1 time for me and your child to connect.

  • Pick-Up Info: Once your child finishes their time slot, you can pick them up at the regular pick up gate, or arrange for aftercare/childcare to pick them up as usual.

Thank you so much for partnering with me to start the school year strong. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Warmly,

Mrs. Hessami
